Before heading to Ushuaia, I had a night in BA prior to my flight. I did not do much except to walk around and watch some futbol games while enjoying some beer. The next morning I was finally headed to The End of The World!
Upon arriving in Ushuaia, I grabbed a taxi and headed to the bed and breakfast I was staying at. Javier was extremely welcoming and upon finding out I had little time in Ushuaia, he devised a plan for my short time there. First that evening I did a boat tour of the Beagle Channel. It was a bit shocking when at 9:30pm it was still light out! We got to see some great wildlife and the lighthouse as well. Many, many pictures were taken by everyone on the boat. It was nice that there was only eight of us on the tour. This made for a much more relaxed time.
The following morning I got up and grabbed a bus to the national park to do some hiking. I really had no clue what was going on until we finally got to the park. I find that this is something that happens to me quite a bit. Luckily I go with the flow and end up doing fine. Upon arriving in the park I did a 3 hour hike along the Beagle Channel. After a much needed lunch, I did another 3 hour hike to the Chilean border along a lake. All of the scenery was amazing and I took a bunch of pictures. When I got back to the B&B, Javier drove me up to the glacier above town so I could do more hiking. While he told me it was only 8km back to his place, he did not tell me that I had a 1000 meter hike up hill to start. Luckily I made it back before it got dark out.
In just over 24 hours of time, I was able to take in a large amount of what Ushuaia has to offer. I was lucky to have met Javier otherwise I would have not known what to do. I was tired after all of the hiking and decided I did not want to do any major hiking for a couple of days.
