I was kind of disappointed with my last post. I was in a rush to write something and get out of the Internet cafe before I had to pay more money that I didn’t have. Now I have more time to write about some of my experiences thus far. Because of weather, the ferry has been postponed until tonight. So yesterday I took a six hour bus ride from Pucon to Puerto Montt. It was great to see some of the country side of Chile, but it started raining, so I didn’t get to see much. It was nice to relax a bit though. Luckily I didn’t drink much water on the bus ride so that I wouldn’t have to use the bathroom. I say that because I did use it once and it was the most vile thing I’ve ever seen. Ok, now that I’ve made everyone sick :) After arriving in Puerto Montt it was time to find a place to stay. Luckily it wasn’t too difficult and the place I ended up at was quite nice. This morning at breakfast I met another guy who’s from Australia who was taking the boat as well. We went down to the office to check in and found out about the delay in the boat. We’ll actually be on a different boat than we should have been, but I’ve been upgraded to a cabin and we end up leaving tonight at 9:30 and not arriving in Puerto Natales until Friday morning now (originally scheduled for Thursday morning). At least I don’t have any frim plans that are being messed up by the change in schedule. I’m still trying to figure out what I’m going to be doing towards the end of my trip. I think that going to Viña del Mar is going to be in the plans now. It’ll be nice to hang out on the beach and relax for a bit before returning to work.
