I figured that this blog is to keep track of my travels, that I should update with information on my trip to Pittsburgh. What an awesome trip this was! Of the six days I was in town, I got to spend four of them at my uncle’s place in East Brady. Upon arriving in Pittsburgh, I picked up the rental car and head to Primanti Brothers in Cranberry Township to meet Dave and Jen and have a fantastic homecoming sandwhich and beer. My first full day I headed up to mow the yard and help my uncle put the boat in. Luckily the boat started without a problem, so my uncle wasn’t in a bad mood 🙂 We took the boat for a spin, got caught in the rain, and went swimming. I had dinner that night with my parent’s, since I hadn’t seen them since I got home. On Thursday I took my grandmother out for lunch and then picked up Dave to go paintballing. We met up with some of our other friends and had a blast. Everyone had a good time and had the battle wounds to prove it 🙂 I decided to head back up to East Brady on Friday to relax a bit and see some of my relatives that were coming in for the weekend reunion. I then had dinner with my parent’s and met up with my friend Matt who was coming in for the weekend. We went out to the North Park Clubhouse for a few beers and pool. We were both pretty beat, so we made it an early night so that we could get up early the next morning to head up to East Brady for the weekend. Saturday found me once more heading up to East Brady. The plan was to camp out up there that night and head back home on Sunday. I spent most of the day on the boat giving everyone rides and taking some people out water skiing. I did a bit of skiing myself to show everyone how it was done and show off a bit 🙂 Most of my mom’s side of the family was spending the night up there that night, so we drank quite a bit that night and finally went to sleep. Sunday was pretty much a repeat of Saturday. I spent most of the day on the boat and then we drank more. Most of the family left that day, but a few of us decided it would be fun to hang out up there again that night, so more beer showed up and we hung out and had fun together. I didn’t get much sleep that night, but it was worth it to be able to spend time with everyone. Monday Matt and I finally headed back to my parent’s house for breakfast and a shower. We then met up with some of my friend’s from high school (Dave, Jeff, Jeremy, Matt) and went to a movie, then back to Jeremy’s house to shoot off fireworks. The night ended with Matt and I heading out to Primanti’s for a final meal in Pittsburgh. I had to get up early Tuesday morning to get on a plane at 6:30am and fly back to Fort Worth to go into work. While I have been extremely tired, it was a fantastic weekend and I had a really good time. It was GREAT to see family members and others that I would always see while growing up and hanging out at East Brady. It really makes me miss living in western PA. I’ll be posting pictures to my website soon!
I’m now getting ready to head out for my next mini-vacation to Boston! I’m really looking forward to this trip as well. I know it’ll be a good time and I’m looking forward to hanging out there.
